The latest arrival at Frugaldom was a small tipper load of topsoil. At last, we can now give the raised beds a revamp and get them filled with foody things that can be shared with whoever cares to share while visiting the project. In the orchard, apples are forming and along the drive, blueberries are looking plentiful. The rhubarb is now past it's best but there are blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberries and gooseberries slowly putting in their appearances.
It's time now to get the composting corner properly organised, get more seeds sown, take some cuttings, bag some manure and restock the Trading Post by the main gate.
Every penny counts when trying to keep the wildlife and the sanctuary animals fed. The corner parking spot on the yard is a firm favourite with our wildlife watchers who visit in campervans or motorhomes as it has its own feeding station adjacent but so too do each of the huts.
