Meet Vincent Van Goat. He is like our food waste disposal unit, weeder and hedge trimmer all thrown into one.
He is casting out his winter wool so was being groomed and having a goat mani-pedi this morning before going a walk to trim some new shoots off the willow and pick at the bog myrtle. The walk got cut short after saying a quick hello to ponies because the Heavens opened yet again and threw down a deluge. It was a quick turn around and back to shelter.
Our Olio haul over the past week has included root veg, mixed veg, salad leaves and some vegan smoked 'ham' so this will all be combined to make dinner tonight. I also picked the first of the rhubarb and some sweet cicely.
Weekends are off grid so cooking is by way of log burner and camping stove but that's ok because I have my trusty stove top steamer and pretty much everything needed for cooking up a meal. I'll let you know how it goes with tonight's gourmet options.
Edited in - one pot cooking of an otherwise free meal. Thank you Olio.
