Frugaldom is a wildlife & nature project and home to ponies, goats and feral cats. We offer overnight parking in our yard, which is hard-standing, for self contained campervans and motorhomes (max 7.5m). We are a registered site, under certification of the Caledonian Touring Club. The site is fully off-grid so no water, no electricity, no showers or toilet block - you need your own onboard toilet & water. Black & grey waste disposal is available on site but no rubbish bins.
Bring all you need, leave no trace.
Check availability by WhatsApp, Messenger or Text as we don't often receive calls. Do not leave voice messages - mobile signal is poor and we work outside in all weathers here. Pets are welcome but must be on short leads and kept within the designated parking areas.
No generators, no BBQs, no campfires, no walking around after dark. We have animals and wildlife on site and they are our top priority.
Overnight stops for campervans and motorhomes (max. 7.5m) cost £15 for 1 night, £25 for 2 nights, discounts available for longer stays to maximum 28 days.
Advance payments or deposits can be made via bank transfer (message for details) or our PayPal business account - we have no formal booking system in place as we are a very small enterprise. Please check to ensure wildlife watching areas are available on your chosen dates. We have two designated wildlife watching spots - Badger's Holt and Pine Marten View.
OFF-GRID HUTS
We have recreational huts on site for use by Friends of Frugaldom wildlife watchers for overnight camping. (No tents allowed on site.) Non-members are welcome to hire the wildlife hut - £50 per day/night - subject to availability. No services are provided, you need to bring everything you need, as though for camping, including water, remove rubbish from site and leave no trace. No pets, no smoking, no vaping in huts. Payment in advance. Get in contact to check availability or to book.

We are approximately 5 miles from Kirkcowan, on the opposite side of the A75 from the village. We share a postcode with all our neighbours between here and Balloch o'Dee campsite, which is just over a mile from us. We are along the windfarm road opposite the white cottage at the crossroads - just look for the traffic bollards and farm bins on the corner - Frugaldom main entrance is just behind them.
