By taking advantage of offers and making meals with what is available, it soon creates an interesting mealtime experience. I have no qualms about bulk buying past 'best before' dates, so there are always plenty of pulses, rice, pasta and the ever-decreasing-in-popularity... cous cous! Personally, I love the stuff! why spend half an hour wasting electricity to boil potatoes when some boiling water works wonders in minutes.

Apart from that, there's nothing wrong with soup and pudding lunches for most of the winter and homegrown salad sandwiches on fresh home-baked bread for most of the summer. :)NYK in Frugaldomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01702184851369212088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7872493581238440851.post-33243416033761089802011-09-27T14:49:46.512+01:002011-09-27T14:49:46.512+01:00£1 a day per person sounds like an awesome challen...£1 a day per person sounds like an awesome challenge - need to get my food outgoings lower as October to the rest of the year is to be very tight for me although it might take more practice to get as low outgoings on food as that! well done, I am very impressed.
Regards
DanDHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14199859409385042568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7872493581238440851.post-46036204821636756162011-09-25T20:10:36.886+01:002011-09-25T20:10:36.886+01:00Put me in charge of the Big Brother household and ...Put me in charge of the Big Brother household and I'll show you a show that might be worth watching. It takes me ages to remove all the cellophane. We usually feed our animals on our smallholding. One day I decided to cook some of the FREE vegetables. They tasted horrible!

Thanks Frugaldom for the coal prices. The lady on the next plot gave me two massive lettuces so I did make lettuce soup for the first time. You are right there is something so smugly satisfying about using everything up and not being wasteful.Captain Shagrathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05626375707585639323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7872493581238440851.post-62577132357131701622011-09-25T16:55:02.580+01:002011-09-25T16:55:02.580+01:00WE LOVE SOUP IN THIS COTTAGE TOO!
